Ever have garment’s that you really love? You wear them to death, and as it starts to fall apart or show signs of ageing, you head back to the store to buy a new one – and it's discontinued!! What to do!!
In this short course, you will learn how to take a pattern from a garment. This will include learning to navigate the tools required, seam allowances and just how you get that pattern onto paper without spending hours unpicking the original
This is the ‘tools of the trade’ – if you’ve ever encountered brands taking designs from one another Ariane is going to show you how they do it, and once you complete your first, you’re going to be hooked!
This is a theory and practical pattern making class. It does not include time for sewing
Please note: this short course is best completed with a top, dress, skirt or leggings. Please avoid bringing more complex garments like trousers or a coat. Please do not bring garments that have darts. Please bring 2-3 items so that we can pick one that will work for the process and show a multitude of skills

You will be added to the special secret Sparkle Gang Stitch Facebook group - a place where Ariane will be sharing tips and tricks for sewing and secret ideas for how to improve your sewing. Class attendees will be encouraged to share pictures of their makes and share knowledge and ideas. Its a community were growing for the Sewing Revolution! This is the place to have access to Ariane's technical knowledge.
Who can attend?
The classes are operated in a respectful manner and no preferences will be taken over the gender of attendees - everyone is encouraged to take part!
Anyone over the age of 18 due to the use of sewing machines
6 hours x 1 sessions = 6 hours
3 hours x 2 sessions = 6 hours
Dates and Times of Classes:
Saturday 18th May - 10am - 5.30pm (includes 30min break)
Thursday 30th May - 6.30pm to 9.30pm
Wednesday 19th June - 6.30pm to 9.30pm
Classes will be held at Ariane's studio - 18 Dawson Street, Brunswick.
Refund and Cancellation Policy:
No Refund applicable, if the class is run again you will be welcome to attend so long as you gave over 48 hours cancellation notice. Not transferable to another person. To run, this class needs a minimum of 4 attendees booked in, if this is not the case 48 hours before the class begins Ariane may be in touch to re-schedule to another date
